We’ve been starting to feel that chill in the air, and that means we can start to wear all of our knits! Here at the shop, we’re ready to usher in fall and winter with tons of special events. Besides our sale (20% off all cottons and cotton blends and 10% off all Jade Sapphire Mongilian cashmere), which is going on through the end of October, we have planned a trunk show with Tanglewood Fiber Creations! November 7th and 8th come meet Trish, and talk to her about spinning and dying her gorgeous yarns. Sunday, November 8th we are having a Candy Party with Trish – for a $20 fee, you will receive a mini skein of Tanglewood cashmere for a swatch, champagne, a free pattern of your choosing and Trish’s help in picking the perfect Tanglewood yarn for your pattern! Please call the shop to sign up for this event.
In more exciting news, we’ve added another class to Jared Flood’s schedule in November! His new class is entitled A Taste of Lace (details below). His other classes filled up quickly, so sign up ASAP!

These are a must-have for lace knitters – we know how hard it can be to get those straight edges straight! Stop fussing with a million pins, and make blocking easier with these blocking wires.
Brand new Hospitality teacups and teapots are available now. Made with heat-resistant silicone where it counts, so it won’t chip or crack, and they come in great colors!
This sock yarn is a fabulous Superwash Merino/Bamboo blend hand dyed in small batches, so every skein is unique! One skein is enough for a pair of socks that will hug your feet in softness and luxury. It's also great for baby garments!
The self-patterning yarn is so much fun to work with and it is so soft. Get the look of Intarsia without all the work! Made of Extrafine Superwash Merino wool and a bit of nylon for socks that will wear well, but still have the loftiness and elasticity of wool.

I have particular love for knitting lace garments in heavier weight wools than is traditionally the case. I find that, not only does this pairing of yarn and technique create beautiful and unique pieces of knitwear, but serves as a wonderful learning tool for beginning lace knitters. In this course we will be talking about the basics of lace and trying our hand at making some of our own with larger needles and heavier yarn. Topics covered include how to read a chart, yarn overs and directional decreasing, planning lace projects, getting ‘gauge’, reading your fabric, and the most important and magical part of lace knitting: blocking.
